How have you achieved success?

Currently, I have just over fifteen years of experience positively impacting the fiscal performance of diverse organizations. In my role, I oversee financial operations, manage equity and debt financing and organize merger and acquisition transactions. I essentially wanted a career that was both challenging and rewarding. I consider finance a universal language. Understanding the ebbs and flows of the financial marketplace makes me an asset to any company, and I have experienced a great deal of success as a result.

What obstacles have you overcome in the process?

Over time I have learnt to manage my responsibilities and not take on more than I am able to handle in a day. As a professional it is hard to say no to certain tasks, but it reached a point where my productivity slowed due to an overwhelming number of requests. Now, I understand my limits, and I implement the appropriate timelines for myself and my workflow.

What drives you to succeed?

I am always learning and striving to be the best version of myself. I would say that knowledge drives me to succeed everyday and allows me to provide the best possible service to my clients. It is my job to provide value, so I must always be on top of industry trends and understand exactly what is going on in the financial world at all times.

How has your definition of success changed over the years?

I think when first starting out my primary focus was definitely acquiring as many clients as possible. Now, my focus is establishing long-term professional relationships. I have always been fascinated by advancements in technology and how it can enhance productivity and efficiency. However, I always say that personal connections are at the heart of any business, and this is always at the back of my mind.

What has success meant to you?

Success for me has been helping other businesses expand their opportunities for growth. I am always challenged by my line of work and I enjoy learning new things about the many industries that I work in, whether it be natural resources, technology, or real estate.

Do you have advice for others on how to be successful?

The best piece of advice that I can offer individuals when it comes to being successful is to become an expert in your field. This may seem obvious, being an expert means you are always learning and growing. Take the time to re-learn fundamentals and never stop reaching for the goals that you set for yourself.
